This year 2017, Davido, Nigerian Music Icon wins Best African act and Best Worldwide Act,

This shows an uprising in the Nigerian Music Industry.

An Award won by wizkid in 2016, Wizkid opened the doors for African Music in 2016 by winning two MTV EMA Awards: Best African act and Best Worldwide Act,


The Nigerian star was honoured with awards for ‘Best African Act’ and ‘Worldwide Act’, topped only by Justin Bieber, who took home three gongs: ‘Best Song’, ‘Best Fans‘ and‘Best Canadian Act’, and matching Lady Gaga who won awards for ‘Best Female’ and ‘Best Look’.

EFCC chair: Buhari to over-rule DSS report, stick with Magu

President Muhammadu Buhari may insist on Ibrahim Magu becoming the substantive chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) after the Senate has twice turned down his confirmation. This follows a report on The Nation that the president appears set to overrule the Department of State Services (DSS) whose report had said that Magu was not fit for the seat. According to the report, the president will soon make his position known on the embattled acting EFCC boss known.
